The Minister of
ICT, Savannah Maziya captivated young minds during the Future Pioneers STEM
Mentorship Program, an initiative designed to empower Eswatini's next
generation with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in an increasingly
digital world. Under the theme "Empowering the Next Generation to Dream
Bigger and Aim Higher," the event brought together students, young
professionals, and industry leaders for a day of transformative discussions on
STEM education, leadership, and financial literacy.

Minister Maziya
delivered a powerful keynote address, emphasizing the critical role of humility
in leadership. "If you want to become an effective leader, you must ensure
that the higher you go in your job position, the lower you go in
humility," she advised.
The program
featured an engaging panel discussion with trailblazers from civil aviation,
social media, and finance, who shared their experiences leveraging digital
transformation to advance their careers. Panelists explored how STEM fields
drive innovation while digital transformation careers determine how that
innovation is applied—ultimately shaping the future of work in Eswatini and
beyond. One key takeaway was the growing potential of social media as a viable
career path, with experts offering practical advice on monetizing digital
platforms and adapting to industry trends.

Financial
literacy took center stage as Minister Maziya and a financial analyst from
STANLIB provided actionable insights on budgeting, saving, investing, and debt
management. The Minister stressed that financial education is not just about
accumulating wealth but about making informed decisions to avoid financial
stress and build long-term security. "Understanding money empowers you to
take control of your future," she noted, urging young attendees to
prioritize financial planning early in their careers.
