Zambia’s
leading state-owned telecom operator, Zamtel has hosted a high-level delegation
from Liquid Intelligent Technologies to explore collaborative opportunities in
improving internet access and digital services across the nation. The meeting,
led by Liquid's Acting CEO Mr. Mwendamo Isaac Mazaba, focused on developing
innovative solutions to bridge Zambia's digital divide.

The discussions
centered on potential partnerships to enhance connectivity infrastructure,
particularly in underserved regions. Both companies acknowledged the urgent
need to improve internet accessibility and affordability to support Zambia's
growing digital economy. The collaboration aligns with Zamtel's ongoing
nationwide network modernization program, which has already upgraded 138 sites
to 4G, with plans to convert 600 sites to 4G and 100 to 5G by December
2025.
The partnership
comes at a critical time as Zambia seeks to improve its digital competitiveness
in the region. Liquid Intelligent Technologies brings extensive experience in
fiber optic networks and cloud services across Africa, while Zamtel offers
nationwide mobile coverage and government-backed connectivity initiatives.

As both
companies move to formalize their cooperation, the Zambian market anticipates
innovative solutions that will not only expand network coverage but also reduce
data costs and improve service quality key factors in achieving meaningful
digital inclusion for the nation's 19.6 million people.
