Sierra Leone's
Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation has initiated n bilateral
cooperation with China during an official visit by a high-ranking delegation
from Hubei Province. The meeting, led on the Chinese side by Madam Wang
Yanling, Executive Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Hubei
Provincial People's Congress, explored new avenues for technological
collaboration between the two nations.

The Minister of
Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Monorma Bah welcomed the
delegation, acknowledging China's consistent support in Sierra Leone's digital
transformation journey. The discussions centered on expanding cooperation
across critical areas including digital infrastructure development, innovation
ecosystems, and human capacity building. She hinted Sierra Leone's commitment
to leveraging Chinese expertise to accelerate its technological
advancement.
The Chinese
delegation outlined several ongoing initiatives through which Hubei Province
institutions are fostering academic and technical exchanges with Sierra Leonean
universities. Madam Wang Yanling highlighted the importance of people-to-people
connections and sustainable partnerships in driving meaningful technological
progress. The delegation shared insights into China's experience in digital
economy development and expressed willingness to support Sierra Leone's
innovation agenda.

This high-level
engagement builds upon existing Sino-Sierra Leonean cooperation in the
technology sector, with both parties expressing optimism about the potential
for expanded collaboration. The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to
explore concrete projects that would translate the discussed concepts into
tangible benefits for both nations, particularly in developing Sierra Leone's
digital infrastructure and innovation capabilities.
