MTN Ghana's
Corporate Communications team has concluded a comprehensive stakeholder
engagement tour across the Oti Region, addressing critical telecommunications
challenges and strengthening community relations. The initiative included open
forums with local residents, commercial motorcyclists ("Okada
Riders"), media practitioners, and government officials.
At a community
forum held at Dambai Pentecost Church, residents raised pressing concerns
including network connectivity issues, airtime/data depletion complaints,
difficulties contacting customer service, and mobile money fraud prevention.
MTN representatives provided detailed explanations, with Area Sales Manager
Ransford Gyan clarifying common data usage scenarios and Corporate
Communications Senior Manager Georgina Asare Fiagbenu outlining SME support
initiatives.
The team
conducted courtesy visits to key regulatory institutions, including the Volta
and Oti Regional Coordinating Councils and Krachi East Municipal Chief
Executive. Regional authorities commended MTN's consistent community outreach
while advocating for expanded network coverage and corporate social
responsibility investments in the area.
Acting Oti
Regional Coordinating Director Rev. Harry Nii Kwatei Owoo praised MTN's
transformative mobile money services during the engagements, pledging
governmental support for the company's expansion plans in the region. "MTN's
digital financial solutions have become essential economic infrastructure for
our communities," Owoo noted.
This
stakeholder tour forms part of MTN Ghana's broader strategy to maintain open
dialogue with customers and regulators while addressing service quality
concerns in underserved regions. The company has committed to ongoing technical
improvements and educational campaigns to enhance customer experience across
its Oti Region operations.
