The Ivorian
government has launched a comprehensive modernization program for La Poste de
Côte d'Ivoire, featuring major structural reforms and financial investments to
revitalize the national postal service. Minister of Digital Transition and
Digitalization, Kalil Konaté announced the transformation plan during an
official visit to the postal service headquarters in Abidjan-Treichville.
The overhaul
includes the creation of four specialized subsidiaries: Poste Immo for real
estate management, Logistique Poste for e-commerce distribution networks, Poste
Finance to expand financial services through fintech partnerships, and Digital
Services to enhance citizen-facing administrative solutions. These strategic
divisions aim to reposition the postal service as a multifunctional platform
for digital and financial inclusion.

President
Alassane Ouattara has authorized 3.68 billion CFA francs to settle decade-old
salary arrears, while Minister Konaté plans to advocate for increasing the
postal service's annual subsidy from 1.7 billion to 6 billion CFA francs during
upcoming budget discussions. The transformation package also establishes a
100-billion-CFA-franc technological innovation fund with mixed public-private
governance through capital openings to national social security
institutions.
"This
metamorphosis will restore trust and efficiency in our postal administration
through innovative services and sound financial management," stated Minister Konaté. The reforms align with Côte d'Ivoire's
broader digital transition strategy, transforming traditional postal
infrastructure into a modern network capable of supporting e-commerce growth,
digital finance, and last-mile delivery services across urban and rural
areas.
The 2025
transformation timeline reflects the government's commitment to upgrading
public services to meet contemporary economic demands while honoring its
obligations to postal workers.
