The Minister of
Digital Transition and Digitalization, Kalil Konaté has issued a compelling call
to action for Ivorian youth during World Skills Day celebrations at the
Treichville Palace of Culture. Addressing a packed auditorium, the minister
positioned digital competencies as the driving force behind the nation's
remarkable economic growth from 2,460 billion CFA francs in 2011 to over
15,339 billion CFA francs today.

Alongside Youth
Minister Mamadou Touré, Konaté outlined how digitalization serves as a
multiplier effect across Côte d'Ivoire's development priorities: "From
tax system modernization to enterprise competitiveness, our National Digital
Economy Strategy recognizes technological upskilling as foundational for
sustainable innovation," he declared. The minister spotlighted four
high-opportunity domains, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud
computing, and data analytics where Ivorian youth can lead continental
innovation.
The event showcased
successful graduates from government-backed programs like the "1 Million
Coders" initiative and the Digital Transformation Centers network, which
have placed over 3,000 young Ivorians in tech careers since 2023. Interactive demonstrations
allowed attendees to experiment with AI tools and cybersecurity simulations,
bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Minister Konaté's
address coincided with the launch of new public-private training partnerships
targeting emerging technologies. "We're not just preparing youth for
the job market – we're empowering them to create the market itself through
homegrown solutions," he emphasized, referencing Ivorian-developed
platforms now serving regional markets.
