The newly
appointed Director of Orange Sierra Leone Foundation, Annie Wonnie Katta,
accompanied by Orange Sierra Leone CEO Sekou Amadou Bah, has paid a courtesy
visit to the Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Salima Bah.
The meeting highlighted ongoing collaborations to advance Sierra Leone's
digital transformation through the Orange Digital Center's innovative
programs.
During the
discussions, Katta presented the Foundation's initiatives in digital skills
training, entrepreneurship development, and community empowerment all aligned
with the government's vision for an inclusive digital economy. The Orange
Digital Center has emerged as a key partner in building local capacity,
particularly among youth and women in underserved communities.
Minister Bah
commended Orange's contributions, stating, "Public-private partnerships
like this accelerate our national digital agenda while ensuring no citizen gets
left behind." The meeting explored strategies to scale digital
literacy programs and create sustainable pathways from training to employment
in Sierra Leone's growing tech sector.
Both parties
agreed to strengthen coordination in implementing programs that bridge the
digital divide while fostering homegrown technological innovation across the
country.
