The Digital
Development Agency (ADD) has welcomed a high-level delegation representing 11
Smart Africa member states for a five-day study visit aimed at advancing
collaborative digital transformation across the continent. The working session,
organized under the framework of the African Council of Information Technology
Agencies (CAITA) chaired by Morocco, marks a significant milestone in fostering
sustainable digital cooperation among African nations.

Led by the
Smart Africa Trust Alliance (SATA) with support from GovStack and Norway’s
development agency Norad, the delegation engaged in knowledge-sharing sessions
on digital governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive innovation
strategies. ADD Director General Mr. Amine El Mezouaghi emphasized the visit’s
role in building an African digital future anchored in trust, sovereignty, and
shared progress.
"This
gathering exemplifies the operational solidarity needed to co-create solutions
for our continent’s unique challenges,"
stated El Mezouaghi, highlighting CAITA’s growing influence as a platform for
strategic coordination among African digital agencies. The discussions focused
on harmonizing regulatory frameworks, scaling interoperable digital public
infrastructure, and developing human capital to drive the continent’s
technological sovereignty.

The initiative
aligns with King Mohammed VI’s vision for South-South cooperation as a catalyst
for Africa’s integrated development. Delegates examined Morocco’s digital
governance models, including the country’s successful e-government platforms
and startup ecosystem support programs, as potential blueprints for regional
adaptation.
