Under the high
patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has inaugurated its first
national debate on artificial intelligence, marking a pivotal moment in the
kingdom's digital transformation journey. Organized by the Ministry of Digital
Transition and Administration Reform under the theme "An Effective and
Ethical AI Strategy at the Service of Our Society," the two-day forum
brings together government leaders, constitutional institutions, diplomats, and
tech innovators to shape Morocco's sovereign AI roadmap.

Minister of
Digital Transition and Administration Reform Amal Al-Falah Seghrouchni presided
over the opening ceremony alongside distinguished attendees including HM King's
Advisor André Azoulay, House of Councillors President Mohamed Ould Rachid,
government ministers, and foreign ambassadors.
The first day
features technical sessions spotlighting AI applications across key sectors and
showcases from Morocco's most promising AI startups. Day two shifts focus to
policy frameworks and international cooperation opportunities in artificial
intelligence development.

This landmark
initiative positions Morocco as a regional leader in responsible AI adoption,
balancing technological advancement with societal needs. The outcomes will
inform a national strategy designed to harness AI's potential for economic
growth, improved public services, and sustainable development while
safeguarding Moroccan values and digital sovereignty.
The debate
underscores Morocco's proactive approach to emerging technologies, building on
its reputation as Africa's digital gateway and reinforcing the kingdom's vision
for a tech-enabled future guided by ethical principles.
