MTN
Ghana has announced a temporary disruption to its data bundle purchasing
services following a major technical issue encountered on 1st July 2025. The
disruption occurred during the implementation of a new data offer aimed at
providing customers with an additional 15% volume on all data bundle purchases
starting today.
The
unexpected technical setback has affected the availability of data bundles and
the newly introduced volume bonus, leaving customers unable to access or
purchase data through the usual channels. In a statement issued by the company,
MTN acknowledged the inconvenience caused and assured its subscribers that
swift efforts are underway to resolve the situation.

MTN
noted that its technical teams are actively working to restore full
functionality to the service and reinstate access to data purchases and the
associated volume enhancements. The company also reaffirmed its understanding
of how crucial uninterrupted connectivity is to its customers, especially in
today’s digital era where access to data underpins communication, work,
education, and entertainment.
“We
sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and
understanding,” MTN
said in its notice, urging customers to bear with the team as they work to
rectify the issue in the shortest possible time.
This
temporary setback comes on the same day the new promotional data offer was
scheduled to take effect, a move that had been widely anticipated by MTN’s vast
subscriber base. The 15% additional data was positioned as part of the
company’s broader strategy to provide enhanced value and improve customer
satisfaction.
