In a strategic move to position Ghana at the forefront of global entrepreneurial innovation, President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Honourable Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, to lead Ghana's delegation to the prestigious Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2025 in Indianapolis, USA. The high-profile event, scheduled for June 2-5, will convene thousands of startup founders, investors, and policy leaders from over 200 nations under the theme "The Bold Transforms the World."

The ministerial appointment reflects Ghana's intensified focus on entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic transformation. "This delegation represents our commitment to fostering private sector-led growth through global partnerships," stated Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw of GEN-Ghana. Minister Ofosu-Adjare will participate in the exclusive GEC Ministerial Summit while spearheading Ghana's agenda through investment forums, innovation showcases, and bilateral meetings with international stakeholders.

Ghana's participation aligns with its national development priorities to strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The delegation – comprising government officials, private sector leaders, and diaspora representatives – will highlight investment opportunities in agribusiness and technology while forging connections to accelerate Ghana's startup ecosystem.

The Congress marks a pivotal platform for Ghana to leverage its recent entrepreneurial achievements, including the establishment of the Ghana Innovation and Research Commercialization Centre. As the second U.S. host city in GEC's 16-year history, Indianapolis offers unique networking opportunities with American investors and innovation hubs.

This strategic engagement builds on Ghana's active role in continental entrepreneurship initiatives and reinforces its position as West Africa's emerging innovation destination. The outcomes are expected to yield tangible partnerships supporting job creation and inclusive economic growth under Ghana's CARES program.
