Post Bank
Uganda has emerged as the first financial institution to successfully implement
MTN Uganda's Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solution following a six-month
proof of concept. The deployment signals a strategic shift in Uganda's banking
and telecommunications sectors, combining next-generation connectivity with
robust cybersecurity.

The SASE
framework – integrating SD-WAN networking and cloud-native security – has
delivered measurable improvements in Post Bank's operational efficiency,
network reliability, and customer service delivery. Edgar Ntwali, the bank's
Business Technology Infrastructure Manager, confirmed the solution reduced
connectivity costs while enhancing service uptime and security compliance.
MTN Uganda's
Enterprise Business General Manager Ibrahim Senyonga highlighted the
collaboration's significance: "This partnership demonstrates our
evolution into a tech solutions provider, moving beyond traditional telecom
services." The implementation leveraged Huawei's SD-WAN infrastructure
alongside security components from Cisco and Fortinet.

For Post Bank's
Chief Technical Officer Janey Rachel Nakato, the technology enables critical
digital banking objectives: "SASE supports our paperless transition
while meeting stringent financial sector security requirements." The
solution's unified architecture simplifies regulatory compliance through
centralized policy management and real-time threat monitoring.
MTN confirms
additional enterprise SASE deployments are planned across East Africa's banking
and logistics sectors.
