France and
Egypt have expanded their academic and research collaboration during President
Emmanuel Macron's state visit, culminating in over 40 new bilateral agreements
between higher education institutions. The Franco-Egyptian Conference on
Scientific Cooperation, held April 7-8, brought together 100 universities and
research bodies to chart a shared innovation roadmap.

A joint
declaration signed by French and Egyptian ministers of higher education
establishes a framework for enhanced partnerships in priority fields including
artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and biomedical research. The
agreements will facilitate increased student mobility, joint degree programs,
and co-developed research initiatives between 40 French and 60 Egyptian
institutions.

Egyptian
officials emphasized the alignment with national development goals in STEM
education and technology transfer, while French delegates highlighted Egypt's
growing role as a Mediterranean hub for scientific collaboration. The
conference outcomes are expected to double current academic exchanges between
both nations by 2030.
