A high-level
Nigerian military delegation, led by Chief of Defence Intelligence Major
General Parker Andayaday, conducted a strategic visit to the Ethiopian
Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII) to explore advancements in AI and data
infrastructure. The delegation engaged in discussions with EAII Deputy Director
General Dr. Taye Girma, who showcased the institute's cutting-edge initiatives
in artificial intelligence research and development.

During the
tour, Dr. Girma highlighted EAII's progress in building a state-of-the-art data
center designed to enhance Ethiopia's global competitiveness in AI technology.
The facility represents a significant milestone in Africa's push for
self-reliance in data sovereignty and advanced computing capabilities.
Members of the
Nigerian delegation commended Ethiopia's investments in AI infrastructure and
human capital development, noting its potential as a model for other African
nations. Major General Andayaday expressed optimism about future collaborations
between Nigerian defense institutions and Ethiopian AI experts, emphasizing the
growing importance of artificial intelligence in modern security
strategies.

The visit
underscores increasing pan-African cooperation in emerging technologies, with
both nations recognizing AI as a critical tool for economic growth and national
security. Ethiopia's advancements in AI research position it as a regional
leader, while Nigeria's interest signals a broader continental shift toward
embracing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
As African
nations accelerate their digital transformation, partnerships like these could
pave the way for shared innovation and strengthened technological sovereignty
across the continent.
