Kenya
is strengthening its engagement with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO)
as part of efforts to advance its digital transformation agenda and expand
international partnerships.
Discussions
were held on the sidelines of the 15th Connected Africa Summit in Nairobi
between DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya and Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau.
The
meeting reviewed progress in ongoing collaboration, including the establishment
of a DCO–Kenya Working Group and Kenya’s expressed interest in joining the
organisation as a Member State.

Both
parties explored opportunities to align Kenya’s digital priorities with DCO
programmes, with particular focus on the implementation of the country’s
National AI Strategy 2025–2030. The discussions also highlighted the role of
international cooperation in accelerating innovation, digital inclusion, and
economic growth.
The
engagement builds on earlier interactions between the two sides and reflects
growing momentum in Kenya’s positioning as a regional digital leader.
The
DCO reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Kenya’s digital transformation
efforts, with both sides expressing a shared goal of advancing a more inclusive
and equitable digital economy.
