Ghanaian
innovator and founder of Sesi Technologies, Isaac Sesi, has announced that his
agritech company has received funding from the UK International Development
through the RISA Fund to scale its latest innovation, FarmSense.
FarmSense
is a low-cost soil intelligence platform designed to empower smallholder
farmers with vital soil health data and actionable insights to boost crop
yields. The funding will enable Sesi Technologies to expand soil testing access
for smallholder farmers across Ghana, enhance collaboration with agribusinesses
and farmer support organizations, and improve its digital tools and technology
platform.

The
initiative also strengthens Sesi Technologies’ partnerships with leading
research and innovation entities including the Distributed IoT-Platforms,
Privacy and Edge-Intelligence Research (DIPPER) Lab, Innovate UK, The
Manchester Metropolitan University, and iSDA - Virtual Agronomist.

Isaac
Sesi, who is an MIT Technology Review Innovator Under 35 honoree, described the
achievement as a major milestone in the company’s mission to improve the
livelihoods of smallholder farmers and advance food security across Africa
through technology-driven solutions.
