Customers in South Africa can now receive international remittances directly on their Mobile Money wallet, thanks to MTN SA's updated platform.
MTN SA's super-app mobile money platform now offers a suite of financial services, including business wallets, funeral covers, point-of-sale devices, streamlined payments, and international remittances, providing customers with a cost-effective alternative to traditional banking services.

MTN SA's Chief Financial Service Officer, Bradwin Roper
Bradwin Roper, MTN SA's Chief Financial Service Officer, is confident that offering international remittance services to customers will enable the company to access the unbanked population in the country and remove barriers to cross-border money transfers.
“At MTN,
we are committed to offering an alternative to expensive banking services. We
are achieving this by introducing value-added platforms to our services that
offer device users cheaper, more accessible options,” Roper said.
“People, particularly in those in rural areas where
traditional infrastructure is lacking, seek connectivity, simplicity,
reliability and an increasing range of services from a single source,” he said.
MTN launched a new feature called MoMo Business Wallet. It enables businesses to receive payments from customers in real-time without transaction fees.
