Nokia has clinched two prestigious awards at
the Safaricom Partner Award ceremony in Nairobi. The telecom giant, Safaricom
PLC, bestowed upon Nokia the Innovation Award and the Sustainability Award,
reaffirming Nokia's position as a frontrunner in the telecom industry.
Receiving the awards at the well-attended
ceremony, the Managing Director for Nokia, Ramy Hashem expressed his pride in
the team's resolute pursuit of innovation and highlighted a multitude of
groundbreaking initiatives that had paved the way for this remarkable
recognition.

He mentioned the pioneering Africa's
first-ever 5G Slicing technology to revolutionizing ticketing processes through
automation as some of the initiatives that have contributed to Nokia’s
recognition.
“Through
determination and collaborative efforts of all team members, we demonstrated
groundbreaking innovations (First in Africa 5G Slicing, Automation of ticketing
process, AI/ML for Energy Efficiency Pilots, Innovation days, Cloudification
program, Productivity engagement, 5G Monetization engagements and Industry
digitization…),” he affirmed.
“Our
dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices has been
acknowledged through the Sustainability Award. Moreover projects of UNICEF
Schools Connectivity, UN Women, Network Energy Efficiency programs have made a
big impact in Safaricom for this 2nd award,” he added.

Mr. Hashem then emphasized that the awards are a
direct result of a collaborative effort that involves every member of the Nokia
team.
“I would
like to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of each and every member of Nokia
team who contributed to these achievements. It is with your collective
expertise, passion, and teamwork that has made these awards possible,” he
stated.
