Alibaba Cloud has launched
its first public cloud region in the Netherlands, introducing two new data
centres aimed at providing robust infrastructure, lower latency and in-region
data residency for local and European customers.
The new region, located in
Amsterdam, is expected to support growing demand from businesses seeking to
adopt and scale artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies across
Europe.
Dr. Feifei Li, Chief
Technology Officer and President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud
Intelligence, said the launch responds to strong demand from local businesses
building and scaling with AI.
“The Netherlands is one of
Europe's most vibrant digital economies, and our first region here is a direct
response to the strong demand we see from local businesses building and scaling
with AI. By bringing our advanced AI and cloud capabilities to Amsterdam, we
are giving customers the in-region infrastructure, performance and data
residency they need to innovate faster, scale securely and operate with greater
efficiency in the AI era. Turn every token into intelligence and into values!”
said Dr. Li.
The two new data centres are
designed to strengthen Alibaba Cloud's infrastructure capabilities in the
European market while providing customers with improved performance and the
ability to keep their data within the region.
Alongside the launch,
Alibaba Cloud unveiled new AI and cloud products to address the growing demand
for enterprise AI in Europe.
