The Director General of the
Senegalese Agency for Space Studies (ASES), Maram Kaire, has held bilateral
meetings and participated in discussions on strengthening space cooperation and
developing the Euro-African space economy during the Africa Space Expo (ASPEX
2026).
During the three-day event,
Kaire took part in several activities dedicated to advancing partnerships and
cooperation in the space sector.
Among the highlights was a
high-level panel organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), under the
theme “Dialogue with industry: new partnerships for the Euro-African space economy”.
Discussions focused on the
institutional needs and prospects of the space industry, including strategic
priorities, market access and the development of sustainable partnerships.
The meeting also examined
the conditions necessary for developing an African space ecosystem that is more
connected to international players and opportunities for cooperation.
On the sidelines of the
event, Kaire exchanged views with a delegation from the German Space Agency
DLR, accompanied by GIZ, on prospects for collaboration between the two
agencies.
