The leadership of MTN
Group and MTN Nigeria have paid a courtesy call on the newly elected President
of Nigeria, HE Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
Led by the MTN Group Chairman Mcebisi Jonas
and MTN Nigeria Chairman, Ernest Ndukwe, the delegation were received by President
Tinubu with the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC), Dr. Umar Garba Danbatta.

According to MTN Nigeria,
MTN Group President and CEO Ralph Mupita and MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Olutokun
Toriola were also part of the delegation which congratulate the President on
his election.
“It welcomed his plans to
fully embrace an inclusive digital economy as well as changes to operations in
Nigeria’s foreign exchange market,” it said.
The delegation also
reinstated MTN’s commitment to expanding investment in telecommunications
infrastructure and working with the government in achieving national
priorities.
MTN Nigeria is the
largest of MTN Group’s 19 operations and contributes around 40 percent of the
Group service revenue.

MTN,
which has operated in Africa's largest economy for more than 20 years, is
committed to continue to partner with the government of Nigeria to drive
socio-economic progress for Nigeria and her people.
