Applications for the fifth
edition of the AAU Africa Innovation Competition remain open, with academic
innovation ecosystems developing AI-based software solutions invited to submit
their proposals ahead of the October 31, 2026 deadline.
The competition provides an
opportunity for eligible innovators to showcase AI-based software solutions
developed within academic innovation ecosystems and compete for a share of a
USD 60,000 prize pool.
Organisers are encouraging
prospective applicants to review the competition’s information brochure before
submitting their entries. The brochure outlines who can participate, the
application requirements, the evaluation process, the available prize pool and
the pathway to the continental final.
The continental final is
scheduled to take place in Zimbabwe in December 2026, bringing the
competition’s participating innovators together at the final stage.
The African
Telecommunications Union is encouraging interested teams and academic
innovation ecosystems to explore the opportunity and share the call with teams
that may be eligible and interested in participating.
Applicants have until
October 31, 2026, to submit their proposals for consideration in the fifth
edition of the AAU Africa Innovation Competition.
