Togo is strengthening the
capacity of Local Digitalization Coaches (APD) to help very small, small and
medium-sized enterprises adopt digital technologies suited to their business
needs as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation across the country.
The training programme,
organised by the Togo Digital Agency (ATD), is being rolled out progressively
across the national territory to equip local coaches with practical skills to
identify the digital needs of MSMEs and guide them towards appropriate solutions.
The first stage of the
training was held in Dapaong, followed by sessions in Kara before continuing in
Sokodé.
The programme focuses on
strengthening participants’ understanding of digital transformation tools,
introducing the Digital Innovation Loop (DIL), and providing practical
exercises on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other digital tools
that can support businesses.
Through the training, the
Local Digitalization Coaches are expected to improve their ability to assess
the specific challenges facing MSMEs and support them in adopting digital
solutions adapted to their activities.
The initiative comes amid
efforts to ensure that digital transformation extends beyond infrastructure and
technology deployment to include practical support for businesses seeking to
improve their operations through digital tools.
The programme is an
initiative of Togo’s Ministry of Public Service Efficiency and Digital
Transformation and is being implemented through the Togo Digital Agency.
It is supported by ProDigiT,
a project implemented by GIZ Togo and co-financed by Germany’s Federal Ministry
for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Luxembourg Ministry of
Foreign and European Affairs, the European Union and the National Synergy of
Very Small, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SN-VSME).
The training programme is
intended to create a stronger network of locally based digital support
professionals capable of helping MSMEs navigate digital transformation and
adopt technologies that respond to their operational needs.
