Telecel Faso has highlighted
the importance of cybersecurity, digital trust and regional cooperation in
strengthening West Africa’s digital transformation agenda during the 4th
edition of SIPEN-UEMOA 2026.
The company’s Head of
Networks, Systems and Cybersecurity Department, Mr. Alassane Kafando,
co-moderated Panel 3 of the conference, which focused on the theme “Governance,
Digital Trust and Financial Sovereignty.”
Held on July 15, 2026, the
session brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss emerging
challenges in digital governance, cybersecurity and the resilience of financial
infrastructures across the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) region.
During the discussions, Mr. Kafando
stressed the need for stronger cooperation among WAEMU member states to address
growing cyber threats and protect critical digital systems.
He called for the creation
of regional prevention mechanisms, increased sharing of cybersecurity
intelligence and coordinated approaches to managing cyber incidents. He also
emphasised the importance of developing sovereign digital infrastructure to
support economic resilience and financial stability.
Telecel Faso said its
participation at SIPEN-UEMOA 2026 reflects the company’s commitment to
contributing to the development of a secure, resilient and trusted digital
ecosystem in West Africa.
The company reaffirmed its
