Minister for Communication,
Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has sworn in two new
members of the Governing Board of the National Communications Authority (NCA),
strengthening the regulator's leadership and governance.
The newly appointed board
members are Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako, an Associate Professor of Economics at
the University of Ghana Business School, and Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim,
Chairman of the Hajj Board and former Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori
Constituency.
The appointments were made
to fill vacancies created by the passing of two former board members.
The Ministry said the
addition of the two members reinforces the Board's expertise as it continues to
provide strategic direction and oversight for Ghana's communications and
digital technology sector.
The National Communications
Authority plays a central role in regulating the country's telecommunications,
broadcasting and digital communications industries, while supporting the
government's broader agenda to expand digital infrastructure, promote innovation
and strengthen the digital economy.
The new board members are
expected to contribute their expertise in economics, public policy and
governance as the Authority addresses emerging opportunities and challenges
within Ghana's rapidly evolving communications landscape.
