Leaders from Africa's
internet and digital ecosystem have reaffirmed the importance of collaboration,
resilience, and partnership in advancing the continent's digital transformation
during the Africa Internet Summit.
The Technology Service
Providers Association of Kenya (TESPOK), which served as the local host of the
summit, brought together policymakers, technical experts, internet governance
stakeholders, and industry leaders from across Africa to discuss the future of
the continent's internet ecosystem.
Delivering a message to
participants, internet pioneer Prof. Nii Quaynor thanked attendees for their
contribution to the summit and encouraged the African internet community to
remain united in advancing the continent's digital agenda. He emphasized the need
for continued resilience and cooperation in building a stronger and more
connected digital future.
The summit also highlighted
the importance of institutional partnerships in strengthening Africa's internet
infrastructure and governance frameworks.
AFRINIC Chairman Prof.
Adewale Adedokun commended TESPOK for successfully hosting the Africa Internet
Summit and organizing activities that fostered collaboration among stakeholders
from across the continent. He noted that the event provided an important
platform for strengthening partnerships within Africa's internet community.
Speaking during the summit,
Pierre S. Dandjinou underscored the importance of collective action in building
a resilient and inclusive internet ecosystem for Africa. He emphasized that
sustained cooperation among governments, regulators, private sector organizations,
technical communities, and development partners remains critical to supporting
the continent's digital growth.
Participants at the summit
exchanged views on strengthening internet governance, expanding digital
connectivity, and promoting collaborative approaches to addressing emerging
challenges facing Africa's digital ecosystem.
The Africa Internet Summit
continues to serve as one of the continent's leading platforms for dialogue on
internet development, bringing together key stakeholders to advance policies
and initiatives that support digital inclusion, innovation, and sustainable
digital transformation across Africa.
