The National Agency for Digital Infrastructures and Frequencies (ANINF) has officially opened its first provincial office in Franceville, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s efforts to extend digital services and support across Gabon.

The inauguration ceremony took place in the province of Haut-Ogooué and was presided over by the Prefect of the Department of M’Passa, acting on behalf of the Governor of the province. The event was attended by the President of the Departmental Council of M’Passa, the Mayor of Franceville, and representatives of various local administrations.

The new office represents ANINF’s first regional establishment since the agency was created in 2011 and forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the agency’s presence outside the capital while supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda.

Speaking at the ceremony, Alberto Mounguengui Moudoki said the establishment of the Franceville office reflects the agency’s commitment to bringing state digital expertise closer to public institutions, local authorities, businesses and citizens.

According to ANINF, the office will provide technical support to local administrations, assist in the use and management of government digital infrastructure, facilitate the identification and reporting of digital needs at the local level, and improve coordination between the agency’s central services and stakeholders in the province.

The initiative is expected to enhance the delivery of digital services and contribute to more inclusive digital development by ensuring that communities outside major urban centres have greater access to technical expertise and government digital resources.

ANINF noted that the opening aligns with Gabon’s broader national development objectives, which place digital technology at the centre of efforts to modernize public administration, strengthen territorial development and improve public service delivery.
