Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of
Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, Djibril Ouattara, has
reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the digital transformation
of the country’s water utility sector during a visit to the Société de Distribution
d’Eau de la Côte d’Ivoire (SODECI).
The visit, provided an
opportunity for the Minister to engage with SODECI’s leadership and staff on
the role of technology in improving service delivery, operational efficiency,
and resilience within the water sector.
Speaking during the
engagement, Ouattara highlighted the strategic importance of water as a
critical resource for national development and emphasized the growing role of
digital technologies in transforming essential public services.
He noted that digital
innovation can help strengthen operational performance, improve system
resilience, and enhance the quality of services delivered to citizens,
particularly in sectors that directly impact daily life.
The Minister also
acknowledged the contribution of SODECI and its workforce to national
development, describing the institution as one that has played a significant
role in shaping leadership and public service excellence in the country.
According to Ouattara,
collaboration between government institutions and public service providers will
be essential to accelerating digital transformation efforts and ensuring that
technological advancements translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
He reiterated that the
Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation stands ready to
support initiatives that leverage technology to modernize infrastructure,
improve efficiency, and strengthen public service delivery.
The engagement forms part of
broader efforts by the Ivorian government to advance digital transformation
across key sectors of the economy and promote the adoption of innovative
