The National
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt has held discussions
with the Ambassador of Sweden to Egypt, H.E. Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, focused on
strengthening bilateral cooperation in digital transformation,
telecommunications infrastructure resilience, and cybersecurity.
The meeting was hosted by
Mohamed Shamroukh, Executive Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of the
NTRA, who welcomed the Swedish delegation and underscored the importance of
deepening collaboration between both countries in the digital sector.
According to the NTRA, the
discussions centered on advancing secure and innovative digital ecosystems,
with both sides exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation in areas
critical to modern telecommunications development.
Key topics included
strengthening the resilience of telecommunications infrastructure, expanding
digital transformation initiatives, and improving cybersecurity frameworks to
support safe and reliable digital services.
Officials from Egypt and
Sweden highlighted the importance of international partnerships in addressing
emerging digital challenges and fostering innovation-driven growth in the ICT
sector.
The meeting also reflected a
shared commitment to supporting secure digital environments that enable
economic development, technological advancement, and improved connectivity for
citizens and businesses in both countries.
The NTRA noted that the
engagement forms part of its broader efforts to build strategic global
partnerships aimed at reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional hub for
digital innovation and telecommunications development.
