The African Union Space Agency (AfSA) and MEDEF International have signed a groundbreaking three-year partnership agreement, marking the first collaboration of its kind between the African Union and a European employers' association. The agreement was formalized in Paris by Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, President of AfSA, and Denis Mercier, Co-President of MEDEF International's NewSpace Task Force.

This unprecedented partnership, the result of over two years of collaborative work, aims to foster the development of Africa's space sector and its applications through innovation, skills transfer, and shared expertise.

Key areas of cooperation include space economic diplomacy, joint organization of economic forums dedicated to space, and addressing financial, legal, and regulatory aspects of the industry.

The agreement reinforces the commitment of French businesses, from startups to large corporations, to engage with Africa's growing space economy. Both organizations emphasized the importance of this partnership in unlocking the immense opportunities within the African space sector and strengthening international collaboration in space exploration and technology development.
