The Ministry of
ICT, in partnership with the Eswatini Communications Commission and supported
by a World Bank-funded project, is hosting a two-day cybersecurity workshop
focused on developing the nation's Computer Security Incident Response Team
(CSIRT) capabilities.
The training
provides hands-on guidance on CSIRT daily operations, including service
delivery, operational processes, tools, technologies, and essential
competencies for effective incident response. This initiative is part of
Eswatini's broader commitment to enhancing national cybersecurity resilience
and building a skilled workforce to address evolving cyber threats.

Hon. Minister
of ICT, Savannah Maziya expressed appreciation for the support from the World
Bank and NRD Security, emphasizing the workshop's role in equipping
participants from government, state-owned entities, the private sector, and
civil society with critical cybersecurity skills. The Minister highlighted that
the training aligns with the recently tabled Critical Infrastructure Protection
Bill, 2025, and the Computer Crime & Cybercrime Act, 2022, underscoring
cybersecurity as a shared responsibility across all sectors.

Mr. Sakhile
Dlamini, Acting Director of Communications, officially opened the event, noting
that the training supports the Government in Your Hand Initiative by promoting
continuous reskilling and upskilling.
The workshop
continues with sessions on situational awareness, security event detection, and
vulnerability management before concluding with a comprehensive wrap-up and
expert-led Q&A.
