Kenya’s ODPC wins four global privacy and data protection awards

The Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya has been honored with four global awards at the 47th Global Privacy Assembly in Seoul, South Korea. The awards recognize Kenya's outstanding contributions to data protection and privacy across multiple categories.

Kenya received accolades in Education and Public Awareness for its efforts to instill a culture of digital education and raise public awareness; in Dispute Resolution and Enforcement for its exemplary role in addressing data breaches and ensuring compliance; in Innovation for pioneering solutions such as the ODPC chatbot; and the People's Choice Award for overall excellence and leadership in the field.

Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, MBS, commended her team and partners, including the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy and GIZ Kenya, for their dedication and hard work. The awards underscore Kenya's growing prominence and commitment to advancing data protection standards globally.
