Uganda's national medical stores showcase innovative medicine tracking system

The Minister of State for National Guidance, Godfrey Kabbyanga, has visited National Medical Stores (NMS) and commended the organization for its innovative use of technology to enhance the visibility and efficiency of medicine delivery across Uganda.
During the
visit, more than 30 government communicators from various Ministries,
Departments, and Agencies were introduced to the NMS Delivery Monitoring Tool
(DMT). This system enables real-time tracking of medicine shipments, providing
unprecedented transparency in the distribution process.
Moses Kamabare,
representing NMS, explained that the DMT sends SMS notifications for medicine
dispatch and delivery directly to key officials, allowing them to monitor and
ensure proper utilization.
The system,
combined with GPS-enabled trucks and strategically placed cameras, offers full
supply chain visibility, improving accountability and building trust with both
stakeholders and the public.
