Bayobab has
announced the appointment of Mohamed Bassit (Mohamed Abdelbassit) as its new
Chief Communication Platforms Officer (CCPO), effective 1 September 2025. Mr.
Bassit will report directly to Mazen Mroué, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure.
With over 25
years of experience in the ICT and international wholesale telecoms sectors,
Mr. Bassit brings extensive expertise in mobility services and digital
infrastructure across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. His career
includes significant leadership roles at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, where
he served as Chief Wholesale Officer and Regional CEO for the Middle East &
West Africa. During his tenure, he led the launch of a new fibre operation,
established an international data centre in Nigeria, and oversaw the rollout of
major connectivity projects across the continent.
Prior to this,
Mr. Bassit held pivotal positions at BICS, expanding its footprint across the
MENA region, and leadership roles at GBI and MACH (now Syniverse).

Mr. Bassit
holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, and is CCNA certified.
