Dashen Bank partners with Ethio VIP Events to enhance diaspora engagement and remittance channels

Dashen Bank S.C., a leading financial institution in Ethiopia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ethio VIP Events Management to strengthen diaspora engagement and promote compliant remittance channels. The agreement was formalized in Dubai on September 16, 2025.
The MoU was
signed by Mr. Elias Hussien, Chief Corporate Banking Officer of Dashen Bank,
and Mr. Mages Abdulkafur, Co-Founder and CEO of Ethio VIP Events Management.
This collaboration aims to mobilize the Ethiopian diaspora community in the UAE
by promoting financial inclusion, encouraging the use of regulated remittance
channels, and creating opportunities for savings and investment.
Through this
partnership, the organizations will organize co-branded community and business
events, financial literacy programs, and outreach initiatives. The agreement
also includes efforts to identify and onboard compliant remittance agents in
accordance with UAE Central Bank and National Bank of Ethiopia regulations,
ensuring secure and efficient financial flows.
Both
institutions emphasized the importance of coordinating with the Ethiopian
Embassy and diaspora associations to enhance outreach and build trust within
the community.
