South Africa and Nigeria deepen bilateral ties

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) has hosted a strategic dialogue with the MTN Group and fellows from the MTN Nigeria Media Innovation Programme (MIP), focusing on enhancing economic and cultural diplomacy between South Africa and Nigeria.
The engagement
served as a significant step toward strengthening the relationship between the
two nations. The dialogue facilitated a constructive exchange on the
collaborative roles of media, business, and government in reshaping continental
narratives and amplifying African voices on the global stage.
Discussions centered on building trust and mutual understanding between South Africa and Nigeria, as well as promoting people-to-people diplomacy as a foundational element of regional integration and cooperation.
DIRCO and the
Nigerian High Commission were acknowledged for their pivotal role in hosting
this initiative, which underscores the ongoing commitment to fostering stronger
bilateral ties.
