A high-level
delegation from the World Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Federation (WUAVF), led by
its Chairman Mr. Yang Jincai, has conducted a working visit to the Ethiopian
Artificial Intelligence Institute to discuss potential collaborations in drone
technology and artificial intelligence.
The meeting
marked a significant step toward strengthening international partnerships in
the rapidly evolving field of unmanned aerial systems.

During the
engagement, the Institute’s Deputy Director General, Dr. Taye Girma, provided a
comprehensive overview of the Institute’s ongoing activities and its existing
collaborations with various international organizations. The presentation
highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence for
national development and technological innovation.
In his remarks,
Mr. Yang Jincai commended the Institute’s achievements and expressed optimism
that the visit would pave the way for enhanced cooperation between Ethiopian
institutions and WUAVF member countries. He emphasized the potential for
collaborative efforts to support the growth of the drone industry in Ethiopia
and across the region.

The discussions
focused on identifying concrete opportunities for partnership, including
knowledge exchange, capacity building, and joint initiatives aimed at advancing
the application of drone technology in areas such as agriculture,
infrastructure, and emergency response.
Both parties
expressed a shared interest in fostering an enabling environment for innovation
and technology transfer that supports sustainable development and economic
growth.
