A high-level
Namibian delegation is participating in the 28th Universal Postal Congress
(UPU) in Dubai, representing the nation’s interests on the global stage. The
delegation includes officials from the Communications Regulatory Authority of
Namibia (CRAN), the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology
(MICT), and NamPost.
The quadrennial
congress, which runs from 8 to 19 September 2025, serves as the highest
decision-making body of the Universal Postal Union. Under the theme “Leading
Change, Creating the Future,” the event brings together 192 member countries to
shape the future of the global postal sector.
Key items on
the agenda include setting the organization’s worldwide strategy, updating the
regulations governing international postal exchanges, and addressing critical
issues such as digital governance, e-commerce growth, innovation, and
sustainability. The discussions are expected to chart a course for a more
resilient and adaptive global postal network.
The Namibian
delegation expressed its commitment to actively engaging in these pivotal
discussions. Participation in the congress underscores Namibia’s dedication to
ensuring its postal and logistics sectors evolve to meet modern demands, remain
sustainable, and continue to serve all citizens inclusively. The event provides
a vital platform for sharing insights and collaborating on solutions that will
define the future of communication and trade worldwide.
