Smart Africa CEO lauds Guinea's digital sovereignty milestones at TAS2025 launch

The Chief Executive Officer of Smart Africa, Lacina Kone has held a high-level meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Guinea, His Excellency Amadou Oury Bah.

The meeting, which included Her Excellency Ms. Rose Pola Pricemou, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy was held on the sidelines of the official launch of the Transform Africa Summit 2025 (TAS2025) in Conakry. During the discussion, Mr. Koné commended the Guinean government on achieving two significant milestones in its journey toward digital sovereignty: the inauguration of the country’s first national Tier III data center and the official launch of the .gn national domain.

These critical infrastructure projects mark a substantial leap forward in enhancing Guinea's digital resilience, data security, and online identity. The achievements are seen as foundational to the nation's economic and technological advancement.

Mr. Koné also expressed his profound gratitude to the government for accepting to host the 7th edition of the Transform Africa Summit, one of the continent's premier digital and technology gatherings. He acknowledged the government's commitment and preparations to ensure the event's success, which will bring together regional and global leaders to shape the future of Africa’s digital transformation.
