Technology
expert, Foster Awintiti Akugri, has reiterated the need for Africa to address
its infrastructural and access gaps to achieve full interoperability. Speaking
at the Africa Prosperity Network summit, Mr. Akugri stressed that policy should
follow innovation, not precede it, to ensure success.

He
advocated for a consumer-centered approach to unlock value and accelerate
interoperability, suggesting an enabling solutions first, then creating an
innovation-policy-fit environment to govern effectiveness.
The
panel discussion featured representatives from the financial services industry
across Africa, including Ehi Binitie, Hicham El Achgar, Yoofi Grant, and
Olasupo Shasore. The event aimed to address interoperability in Africa, with
attendees including the Vice President of Ghana, the Minister for Communication
& Digitilization, and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.

The
Africa Prosperity Network convened stakeholders to dialogue on unlocking the
value of interoperability for efficient trade in the African Continental Free
Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The
summit highlighted the need for collaboration to overcome the challenges
hindering interoperability in Africa.
